The Historic Village at Allaire State Park
This is a great educational stroll for the whole family. The Historic Village at Allaire is a living history museum that takes you back in time to the early 19th century. It is located in Farmingdale, NJ on a beautiful park property in Allaire State Park. You will find many different buildings and show workshops like a general store (Gift Shop), a bakery, a blacksmith, a welder, a carpenter, a church and a stage depot. Right next to the village is the station for the Pinecreek Railroad with its antique steam trains. You should go onboard and enjoy a ride around the park. But even if you just want to stroll around, the Historic Village at Allaire is a great place to go. It’s a lot of fun for your whole family.
Throughout the year the Park /and Village host many different events like live music, vine festivals, flea markets and car shows. Don’t forget to check our event calendar.
A picture is worth a thousand words.
We usualy combine this stroll with a walk on the fully paved Edgar Felix Bike Path that runs from Manasquan to Allaire State Park. We park our car at the Allenwood General Store, grab some food and walk the 2.5 Miles to Allaire. A shorter “walk in” option is to park next to Spring Meadow Golf Course. From there it is only a little over a Mile to the Historic Village. Don’t forget to try a cookie from the Bakery and don’t miss out on the Blacksmith and Welder shows. Ask at the Bakery for a fishing pole for the pond.
